Born in Birmingham and now based in the east, Elaine Tribley works from her studio at The Hive in Chelmsford, a small artists studio space which she runs for local artists.  She has a BA in Fine Art from St Martin’s School of Art in London and returned in 2007 to complete a MAFA.

Tribley explores her immediate environments producing site responsive work with suggestions of belonging and nostalgia, and often with a sense of irony. Her work spans photography, drawing, sculpture and installation, and operates on the boundary between fine art and graphic design.

Several of Tribley's public artworks are on display at sites across the UK, and her work is held in the collections of Braintree Museum, The V&A, Central St Martins and The Gardens of Easton Lodge. She is one half of the collective '
RichTea Projects' with Amanda Westbury and is a founding member of Market Project, a collective which researched and shared new methods or opportunities for artistic professional and economic development.
